John Alexander will contest Bennelong

John Alexander OAM has been endorsed by the Liberal Party to contest the Bennelong by-election.

He has received confirmation from the UK Home office that he has successfully renounced the UK citizenship that he may have been eligible for through descent.

Mr Alexander will ask the voters of Bennelong to support him in continuing his work for the local community.

John Alexander said that after resigning from Parliament to clear any possible doubts about his eligibility, he has not stopped advocating for the needs of his community.

“For the past 7 years, I have worked hard to represent the people of Bennelong in our national parliament. With support from this great community we have been able to deliver local road improvements, build better cohesion amongst the diverse Bennelong community, and ensure continued delivery of important local services.

“There is still so much more that I have to contribute for this community, to make Bennelong an ever better place to live – such as the Bennelong Gardens, Bennelong HealthFit, and the Business Villages campaigns.

“I will give this campaign everything I have, as the Bennelong community deserves a member who cares deeply for it and will be an effective voice in Government.”
